What is the right fuel for my car?
If your car isn’t performing at its best, it might have deposits that are blocking vital parts like the engine’s intake valves. Our fuels, such as Supreme+ 98 or Extra 95, are specially formulated with molecules that help clean it, protect it and improve your fuel economy too. Our fuel engineers know that small changes can make a big difference. That’s why they’ve spent hours testing different formulas to ensure you can get our best fuel for your car and travel in confidence wherever the road takes you.
Unsure on octane ratings?
A research octane number, or RON, marks the fuel’s octane rating. This is a measure of how resistant it is to burning too early inside your engine. The higher the octane rating, the more resistant it is.
The highest-octane fuel (premium unleaded petrol) available in Australia is RON 98. Fuels such as our Supreme+ are the best for petrol cars as it can benefit fuel economy, power and acceleration. Features like high compression ratios and forced air induction (e.g., turbochargers or super chargers) can also make engines more responsive.
Does my car need high RON?
It makes sense that you’d only want the best fuel for your car and a high RON could be what you’re looking for. Supreme+ 98 is our highest octane premium unleaded petrol, before laddering down to Extra 95, Synergy Special E10 (RON 94) and Special Unleaded 91.
It can’t hurt to use the highest-octane fuel possible but you should always avoid using a lower one in engines that aren’t designed for it. Check to see what your car needs but a 98 RON fuel is formulated with extra additives to help give your engine a deeper clean. The cleaner your engine, the better it can perform and the more fuel efficient it is.
